China Continent Insurance is a national property and casualty insurer established with the approval of the State Council and CIRC. It is also the only primary P&C insurance company under China Re Group. China Continent Insurance was established on October 15th, 2003 based in Shanghai with registered capital of RMB7.302 billion. In 2014, China Continent Insurance achieved annual premium income of RMB 22.4billion, ranking the sixth in domestic market in terms of market share.
China Continent Insurance achieved leap-forward development in the first ten years. China Continent Insurance has a nationwide network of 35 branches, one business department, one shipping insurance operation center, and over 1800 branches and sub-branches covering all the PRC provincial levels regions except for Tibet. In 2014, we were rated by A.M. Best for the first time and received “A” in both financial strength rating (FSR) and issuer credit rating (ICR) with stable outlooks.
The key to the leaping development of China Continent Insurance was the building of a distinctive service system. On the basis of establishment of an exclusive nationwide service hotline 95590, China Continent Insurance extended the telesales of motor insurance, opened nationwide telemarketing number 4009666666, became the second P&C insurance company in the PRC authorizes to sell dedicated telesales products of motor insurance. In order to provide clients with more convenient and more affordable services, “Nationwide Unified Claims Settlement for Motor Insurance” was put into practice. Moreover, China Continent Insurance launched “Online Enquiry of Claims Information” in 2007, becoming the first provider of such special service in this industry. China Continent Insurance developed and utilized the technological pioneering RAS rapid damage assessment system to speed up customer service. It promoted special value-appreciated services such as “Nationwide Free Non-accident Roadside Assistance”, “Document-free Motor Insurance Claims Settlement” and “Door-to-door Document Collection Services”, in order to provide clients with 24-hour guaranteeing service. In 2014, our motor insurance claims service was awarded ISO9001 and ISO14001 certificates by United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS), and we earned a number of honors, among which are “2014 Innovation Award for Auto Financial Service in Automobile Dealers Industry” and “China’s Best Customer Contact Centre Award - Customer Service”. In addition, China Continent Insurance speeded up the building of operation platform constantly, ascending the level and boosting the quality of customer service, offering continuous supports to operational development and market expanding of the company.
China Continent Insurance cares for its employees, attaches great importance to team-building and talent-training, and already owns a group of professional managers and business elites. Over 4% of the staff members at the headquarter have a doctoral degree or postdoctoral experience, while those with postgraduate qualifications and above account for over 61% of the total.
China Continent Insurance is a public-spirited company which undertakes social responsibility and participates actively into the public welfare cause, endeavoring to “pay back the society the care granted”. China Continent Insurance has set up “China Continent Insurance-Hope Project Happy Sports Fund” in collaboration with China Youth Development Foundation, donating RMB 6 million with mission of building 300 “China Continent Insurance happy sports fields” all across the country.
China Continent Insurance has won good social recognition due to its extraordinary entrepreneurship and development process. In 2008, China Continent Insurance entered the list of “Top 500 Enterprises in China” for the first time; in 2009, 2011 and 2012, it entered the list of “Top 500 Service Enterprises in China” successively; and it entered the list of “Top 100 Enterprises in Shanghai” for 5 times from 2007 to 2012. In 2013, China Continent Insurance was awarded “China’s Top 100 Brands of 2013”, “Most Socially Responsible Enterprise” and “2013 Outstanding Enterprise of Social Responsibility”.
